Story 1 · Ages 4–12
Creation - God Makes the World
God creates the heavens, earth, and everything in it in six days, then rests on the seventh.
In the very beginning, there was nothing but darkness. Then God spoke! "Let there be light!" And suddenly, light filled everything!
The story
On the first day, God separated the light from the darkness. He called the light "day" and the darkness "night."
On the second day, God made the sky - a beautiful blue canopy stretching above the earth.
On the third day, God gathered all the water into oceans, seas, and rivers. Then dry land appeared! God filled the land with plants, trees, and flowers of every color. Apple trees, palm trees, roses, and daisies - all kinds of beautiful plants!
On the fourth day, God put the sun in the sky to shine during the day, and the moon and twinkling stars to light up the night.
On the fifth day, God created all the creatures that swim in the water and fly in the air. Fish of every size and color filled the oceans. Birds with beautiful feathers soared through the sky, singing joyful songs!
On the sixth day, God made all the animals that live on land - elephants, lions, puppies, kittens, rabbits, and so many more! And then, God created people! He made the first man, Adam, and the first woman, Eve. God made people special - different from all the animals - because He made them to be like Him.
God looked at everything He had made and said, "This is very good!"
On the seventh day, God rested. He blessed this day and made it special - a day for rest and remembering all the wonderful things He created.
Remember this
“In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.”
